i administered Vectra 3D to my healthy 3 year old Lhasa Apso, Henry, yesterday afternoon. The product was administered at the correct dose and entirely in accordance with the product information leaflet. Within 1 hour Henry exhibited the following symptoms:

- nausea and vomiting

- itching, severe discomfort and agitation

I bathed him using shampoo to try to alleviate his discomfort and try to remove some of the residual product.

We spent a sleepless night where the above symptoms were accompanied by:

- leg spasms

- shallow and fast breathing

- high temperature

I bathed him again this morning and then took him to the vet who confirmed that he was suffering from toxicity as a result of poisoning.

He administered an anti-histamine, an anti-emetic, a steroid and a sedative but his symptoms persist.

I have, 24 hours later, managed to comfort him enough to rest but he is having considerable difficulty breathing and I fear that he may further deteriorate.

I have complained to the manufacturer. I would be interested to know whether anyone is aware of a class action law suit outside of the US? I am not interested in monetary compensation, but in having this product withdrawn from the market thereby preventing other dogs from suffering as Henry is.

Thanks for listening.

I am sorry to hear about Henry as well as the numerous other dogs (and cats) who became sick as a result of this drug. I lost my dog almost 3 years ago.

It all began with a Vectra 3D application at the Vets and 3 days later she was in the ER with elevated liver enzymes and the beginning of liver disease. As for the class action law suit, I haven't been able to find one that actually got approved by the court. I was told by an Attorney in NJ that it was because they couldn't determine whether or not it was user error (overdose, etc) or the product itself.

I wish they would take it off the market.

My dog suffered extremely with Vectra 3D. I would really like to sue the company but don't have the money to hire a lawyer.

This product should be taken off the market. My poor dog is still suffering after a week.

Bathed him 4 times, prednisone, bendryl and still neurotic. HELP

The first time I put Vectra 3D on my Shitzu Mix he was so miserable, he itched is hind quarters consistently, cried and wined, couldn't sleep. So I took him to the vet and he said it food allergies and was just a coincident that it was at the same time I put Vectra 3d, so the vet gave him a cordizone shot and he was better in 24 hrs.

Well I got the same reaction the 2nd time I used Vectra 3D and nothing had change in his diet, I took him back to the vet and he said he was sure it was a food allergy, I refuse the cordizone shot(as is will mask the real problem) and got some libruim instead to just ease is itching symptons, he is much better. This would mean it is not a food allergy.

This Vectra 3D is terrible and I believe a law suit should be started. As I have read in this forum that dogs and have died from this medication.
